THE HOME of William Holden

This is the residence of the late screen actor William Holden. This home is located in the heart of Beverly Hills and is just a short walk to Wilshire Blvd, the Beverly Hilton Hotel and the world famous shops of Rodeo Drive. The home is a 12 room, 7 bedroom, 4 bath residence with swimming pool. The estate sits on a 12,000+ sqft lot and has a total of almost 5000 sqft of living space. The home is still owned by his widow.


Biography:

Back in the early 50's you would be hard pressed to find a bigger romantic lead than William Holden. Such films as "Love Is A Many Splendord Thing," "Country Girl," "Sunset Blvd" and "Stalag 17" were all big hits for Holden. And speaking of hits.....who will ever forget the 'hit' he took when he guest appeared on the "I Love Lucy" show where star struck Lucy trips a waiter at the Brown Derby Restaurant and the tray full of food ends up landing all over Holden.

William Holden was born on April 17, 1918 and his real name is William Franklin Beedle Jr. His first starring role was with Paramount in the the 1939 film "Golden Boy" where he portrayed a young man torn between the violin and boxing. Holden appeared in over 70 films during his long career. He is also well known for the great work he did for wildlife at the Mount Kenya Safari Club in Africa.

Holden is the recipient of two"Best Actor" Academy Awards (Oscar). His first was for the 1953 film 'Stalag 17' and then again in 1950 film 'Sunset Boulevard.' He was also a Best Actor nominee for his 1976 performance in 'Network.'
